Tony Blair told to appear again at UK Iraq inquiry

Last Updated 03 May 2018, 04:57 IST

The panel said today that Blair is one of a dozen witnesses who will appear between Jan. 18 and Feb. 4. They include former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw and Adm. Michael Boyce, former chief of the defence staff.

Blair gave evidence to the inquiry in January and defended the decision to go to war. Since then, other witnesses have questioned parts of his testimony.

The inquiry is examining mistakes made in the build-up to and aftermath of the 2003 US-led invasion.

It won't apportion blame or assign criminal liability, but will report next year with recommendations for future conflicts.
