'Extensive plan on disaster management soon'

Addressing a gathering at the BEML in Kolar Gold Fields after a presentation on dealing with LPG leak, he said the district committee for disaster management will be strengthened to not just manage LPG leaks, but also all man-made and natural disasters.

“Officials and staff need to be prepared to handle any kind of disaster and for this they must take disaster management training seriously,” he said.

Industries and Boilers Department Assistant Director Somashekar elaborated on dealing with LPG leak with the help of a mock drill.

BEML’s Maintenance department Deputy General Manager H N Nagesh, Security Officer Ramesh, Human Resources department Deputy General Manager Murugesh, Chief Medical Officer Dr P Ramesh spoke at the event.

Kolar District Superintendent of Police Dr K Thyagarajan and KGF SP Devajyothi Ray, Agriculture department Joint Director Chikkanna, City Municipal Council In-charge Commissioner Syeda Nilofer Jabeena and other officials were present.
