Last Updated 09 December 2010, 08:37 IST

Sri Lanka Cricket announced that the one-day series has been rescheduled for next year and is likely to get underway late January. A single Twenty20 match has also been postponed.

Most of an earlier three-Test series was disrupted by rain and ended in a 0-0 draw.
The first match of the limited-overs series was scheduled to be played later today at the Sooriyawewa stadium, still under construction for next year's World Cup. However the series has been shrouded in doubt as team officials discussed late into yesterday night whether to postpone the series.

According to local newspaper, 'The Island', the real reason for the postponement is because the West Indies team was unhappy with the facilities, particularly in the dressing room at the venue.West Indies officials did not comment on the report. The tourists also played two Test matches in partially built venues.
