When she said “Tumkan sarv konkani lokak muje ullas ani shubashay” (My wishes to all Konkani people), she received a big round of applause from the crowd.<br /><br />Beetle leaves, arecanut, water<br /><br />The President was given a traditional welcome with ‘paanpod ani udaak’ (beetle leaves, arecanut and water) by Maandd Sobhann President Louis J Pinto, upon her arrival. She was also presented a traditional Konkani saree and jasmine flowers, the speality of this region.<br /><br />Choir, band</p>.<p>The Mandd Sobhann choir sang the title song of the convention (penned by Titus Noronha, composed Eric Ozario and directed by Joel Pereira) while Mother Theresa band from Honnavar gave a glimpse of Konkani music.<br /></p>
