Last Updated 09 December 2010, 17:48 IST

Talking to news persons here, he said Yeddyurappa had even threatened the high command that he would finish off the BJP in the State if he was not allowed to complete the remaining two and a half years.

He reiterated that the party would face the taluk and zilla panchayat elections alone without having an alliance with Congress. There is no time left as the ticket aspirants were flocking the party office to contest the elections. The BJP has absolutely no base in Old Mysore region because of which it was wooing the candidates of other political parties promising them to sponsor their elections. The BJP was misusing the government machinery to win the elections. It was adopting the same strategy of the recently held by-elections.

But the voters have lost faith in BJP and they would vote for JD(S). He expressed confidence that JD(S) would win at least five to six ZPs in north Karnataka region. MLAs M Srinivas, Kalpana Siddaraju, District JD(S) President D Ramesh and others were present.

Alliance ruled out

Earlier, speaking in Maddur,  Kumarswamy ruled out alliance with Congress Party in the coming elections to taluk and zilla panchayats.

In an informal chat with newspersons here, he declined to comment on the statement made by president of Karnatak Pradesh Congress Committee, Dr G Parameshwar, on the poll alliance with JD(S) in the coming polls. “ So far, no leader from Congress has approached him regarding the alliance. The JD(S) is not at all interested in the alliance and is ready to face the elections independently”.

Kumaraswamy claimed that his party was quite strong in old Mysore region. The BJP is not at all their rival in this region. However, the party workers should fight united to win the elections”.

MLA Kalpana Siddaraju, MLC Marithibegowda, Janata Dal Secular District Unit President D Ramesh and others were present.
