Mother Express to enter State on December 13

The train will be stationed at the Hubli Railway Station (Hubli division), Ashokapuram Railway Station (Mysore Division) Bangalore Cantonment Station (Bangalore Division), before leaving the State on January 5, 2011.

Union Minister for Railways Mamata Banerjee flagged off the train at Seldah Station in Kolkata on August 26, this year. The train showcases the life and works of the Albanian-born Mother, who worked tirelessly in the service of the poor, sick, orphaned and destitute in Kolkata and other places for nearly half a century.

The train consists of three air-conditioned coaches with exhibits on the life, work and message of Mother Teresa, including photographs and write-ups. The remaining three coaches are a second class sleeper, a second class luggage-cum-brake van and a power car-cum-brake van.

Opportunity

The Mother Express is open for public view in all the important stations in Karnataka. Citizens will get an opportunity to understand and know the life of Mother Teresa.

It will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai (LTT, Mumbai) and arrive at Vasco-da-gama Station, Goa (Hubli Division of SWR) at 8 am on December 10. It will depart from Vasco at 2 pm on December 11 and arrive at Madgaon station at 3 am on December 11. It will leave Madgaon at 11 pm on December 12.

The Mother Express will enter Karnataka on December 13. The train will arrive at Hubli at 5.30 am. It will depart Hubli at 8 pm on December 14. From there, the train will travel to Ashokapuram Railway Station (Mysore Division). It will arrive at Ashokapuram at 6 am on January 2, 2011.It will depart from there at 10 pm on January 3, 2011 and will arrive at Bangalore Cantonment station at 4.30 am on January  4, 2011.

It will depart from there at 10 pm on January 5, 2011. Further, the train will travel to Katpadi, Chennai, Vijayawada, Secunderabad, Kakinada Town, Visakhapatnam and so on. Entry for the exhibition train is free and public can visit the train between 10 am to 8 pm.
