Hundreds of fans assembled before the superstar’s house at Poes Gardens here to greet him, while many others organised special “poojas” at various temples.
The superstar’s wife Latha thanked fans early in the morning for their gesture and distributed sweets before joining her husband, even as hundreds of the actor’s fans across the state distributed “sarees” and “dhotis” to the poor, besides doing “annadanam (mass feeding).”
DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi called Rajnikanth and wished the superstar. “Prasadam” from other major temples, including Sri Venkateshwara Temple in Tirumala, were sent to Rajnikanth’s residence here.
