Today, malls cater to all the needs of the City’s population. The footfalls in the malls, especially in the weekends, speak volumes about their popularity with the  people, both old and young.

Bangaloreans don’t hesitate to plan and spend an entire day in a mall. Metrolife met some youngsters to find out what they do to make their day interesting in a mall.

“I have spent an entire day in a mall before,” says Namrata Murthy, a CA student. “With so many brands and shops inside, I just spend my time window shopping. And if I find a store where the stuff is moderately priced, I shop for clothes, electronic items and other things,” she adds.

There are many like Namrata who visit the mall for shopping and look out for good
bargains.

“I can spend an entire day shopping, especially if the prices are reasonable,” says Aditya, a professional.

Others say that food forms a big part of the entire experience.  “And if I have to spend a whole day in a mall, I eat a lot and watch at least one movie,” says Chaitanya, an advertising intern. Movies inadvertently are a good way to spend time. “I watch a movie and munch the entire day. I would also like to go shopping as it is the best way to spend time,” says Shaila, a student.

“Apart from watching movies, I check out the Music World or any other store with a good collection of movies. I also go on a buying spree to update my wardrobe,” says Arindam, a sales professional.

But what if there were no movies to catch up on that day? “I guess I would have to be a lot more creative with my planning,” he adds.

“If I have company I would just sit and ‘check out’ the girls in the mall,” says Aditya. “I could also spend a lot of time in a bookstore,” he adds.

Kowsik, an IT professional too has similar plans up his sleeve. “I would begin the day with a movie, followed by lunch, and the afternoon spent at a bookstore reading up a few classics and not actually buying them.”  “I would follow this by shopping which can be intermittently extended. A few snacks in between and a three-course dinner later could perfectly end a relaxing day in a mall,” he adds.

While not everyone was as descriptive about his or her plans, most people listed movies, shopping and food as the perfect way of spending their day in a mall.
