Apart from making door-to-door visits, the leaders are expected to hold political conventions at district, taluk and village levels.

“In order to attract people, political heavyweights are being invited for the campaigning,” said a political leader.

Union Minister Veerappa Moily who represents Chikkaballapur constituency has promised to campaign for the party candidate in the district. Other leaders from the party may join him.

“Participation of such senior leaders will not only encourage party workers but will also lend a dash of colour to the campaign,” said district  Congress unit president M Anjanappa.

Even the leaders of ruling party are also leaving no stone unturned to campaign for the ZP and TP polls.

“Chief Minister Yeddyurappa has promised to campaign in the district on December 20.

District In-charge Minister Shobha Karandlaje will be here for two days to seek votes from the people. This would certainly improve the party’s image,” said BJP district unit president Ravi Narayana Reddy.

Member of Legislative Assembly said that the party State president H D Kumaraswamy would arrive in the district despite busy schedule to tour other parts of the State.

However, the CPI (M) is planning to conduct streetplays and visit door-to-door to apprise people about the failure of BJP in providing a good governance, said party district secretary G V Srirama Reddy.
