The unsatisfactory reply of the officials irked Sundar Nayak, who said there was no improvement in the works and the answers were similar at the meeting held earlier.

DDPI B A Rajashekar said that ‘Jalamani’ project has been implemented in 119 schools in the district, but ironically, the Block Education Officers have shown no interest to collect the complete information on the same and he directed to submit a judicial report on the same.

Several cases of theft of LPG cylinders used for preparing mid-day meals are being reported. He directed to handover the responsibility of monitoring the supply of the cylinders to SDMCs.

Sundar Nayak also expressed his displeasure over the failure in implementing the recharging of open wells in the district.

Around 485 open wells in Kollegal taluk and 27 in Gundlupet taluk should be recharged, but the authorities concerned lack knowledge on the same. He directed to reach the target at the earliest.

Cesc officials who were present at the meeting said  229 borewells have to be energised in Chamarajanagar under Ganga Kalyan project and 243 is pending in Kollegal. It is delayed due to delay in supplying technical gadgets.

Sundar Nayak said that delay in supplying power to the borewells even after one year has made the farmers to opt for illegal power supply. He held Cesc authorities responsible for this and told them to complete the works within the scheduled time.

The wages of the Gram Panchayat secretary should be included in GP funds and taluk officials are not eligible to withdraw the amount. Around 10 per cent of Gram Panchayat funds should be reserved for cleanliness and maintenance of the villages. Otherwise, it will be considered as violation of government norms, he warned.

Joint Secretary Gudur Beemsena, Village Accountant Chunchegowda and others were present.
