He said people would teach a fitting lesson to the Opposition parties which had been levelling false charges against him and his government.

“The Global Investors’ Meet has helped attract huge investments to Karnataka. About Rs five lakh crore is coming to the State. To prevent this, the Opposition is dragging my name in the land scam and levelling false allegations against me,” he said.

He said he would expose the “misdeeds” of the Opposition parties if they continued to tarnish his name. Regarding Cabinet expansion, he said a decision would be taken after discussing the issue at a Cabinet meeting in Belgaum.

Yeddyurappa said he would be happy if the Centre ordered an inquiry into the denotification of government land by past chief ministers of Karnataka, from S M Krishna to the incumbent.

He told newspersons in Belgaum that over 4,400 acres  of land were denotified when Krishna was the chief minister.

“Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and the present Leader of the Opposition, Siddaramaiah, had raised a big hue and cry then. But I fail to understand why they are quiet now. Let the Centre conduct a probe on the issue, including the irregularities during my tenure. I am ready to cooperate,” he said.

2G spectrum scam

Regarding the 2G spectrum scam, he said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should come clean on the Rs 1.76-lakh crore corruption charges against his government by ordering a probe into the deal.

The chief minister said he had taken stringent measures to stop illegal mining in the State and allow mining of value-added ore. Karnataka was the only State to take such a step to save national wealth, he said.
