Gang war averted, six arrested

The other suspects were Mohan Kumar from Mallathalli, Manjunath from Kengunte, Jagadish from Malleswaram, Ravi Kumar from Srinagar and Prasanna  Kumar from Srinivasnagar.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested them near Sumukh apartment when they were preparing to attack members of their rival gang and commit dacoity at MES Colony in Rajagopalnagar.

They told the police they received the information that their rival gang members rowdy Mulama and his associates would pass through the road. Hence, they equipped themselves with lethal weapons to attack them.

Jagga is allegedly involved in two murder cases, an assault and dacoity case each in Vijayanagar and two assault cases in Chandra Layout. He is the associate of a rowdy,  Thammaiah.

Two of the suspects Mohan Kumar and Manjunath were allegedly involved in the murder of Tony and Suri in 2006 in Kengeri, police said.

2 held for gambling

JJ Nagar police arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in gambling and recovered chits, other stationery and Rs 45,000. The suspects were Rizwan Pasha from JJ Nagar and Rehman from K G Halli.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the office of H S Auto Consultancy in Padarayanapura and arrested the suspects. Two other suspects, Fayaz and Mansur managed to abscond.
