He told media persons after interacting with some of the Endosulfan victims at the Kasargod Collectorate that the Centre should come forward to help the victims in the same manner as it has vouched for the Bhopal gas victims.
He said that there was a need to set up superspeciality hospitals to treat those affected by the pesticide use and a special package should be announced for treating children.
Justice Balakrishnan promised to bring the attention of the Agriculture, Health and Environment ministries to the enormity of the problem.
He later visited places like Padre, Enmakaje and Bellur areas where many of the victims and their families reside .
