The Maharashtra police with the help of local police arrested Ajay Kumar Pandey from Naihati, the sources said.
Pandey had allegedly sent a threatening SMS to Bhojpuri film actress Rani Chatterjee asking her to pay Rs 15 lakh otherwise she would be killed, they said.
After receiving the SMS, Chatterjee lodged a police complaint. On the basis of Chatterjee's complaint the police arrested Pandey.
