Speaking to media persons, Mahadev charged Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa of betraying him after being admitted into BJP by promising plum posts.

After joining party, he was sidelined and never took him into confidence before taking any decision pertaining to his district.

Power

The CM played the Lingayat card to grab power. Instead of concentrating on the development of State, Yeddyurappa was only bothered about the welfare of his family members. He indulged in favouritism, nepotism and denotification scam only to defame the State’s image at the national level. The lingayat community members should not repose faith on Yeddyurappa any more as he has betrayed everybody.

Hope

The former minister said he quit Congress Party following ‘suffocating’ atmosphere there and joined BJP with a hope that it was a party with difference. However, there seems to be no change between BJP and Congress and they are like two faces of a same coin.
In the current political situation, JD(S) is the only party which is championing the cause of dalits, backward classes, minorities and upholding the secular values.

Strengthen hands

Time has come for him to strengthen the hands of Kumaraswamy and former prime minister, H D Deve Gowda to launch agitation against the ‘misdeeds’ of the Yeddyurappa Government in the last two and a half years.

Mahadev said the people were fed up with the BJP government and they were looking out for a party that can ensure overall development of the State by taking all the people into confidence.

Kumaraswamy called upon the party workers to convince the electorate of their respective districts to vote for JD(S) in the coming election to taluk and zilla panchayats. MLCs Chikkamadu and Sandesh Nagaraj were present.
