British national Warren Hordy was rescued by lifeguards after he went missing at Candolim beach waters following diving from a stranded MV River Princess vessel on Monday evening.

"The foreigner confirmed that he had jumped off the River Princess after which he was bruised and remained stunned," the spokesman of Dristhti Adventure Private Limited, which is managing beach safety in Goa, told PTI.

The lifeguards were alerted about the missing foreigner by his wife. She told them that her husband had gone towards stranded ship to jump off from it.

"The lifeguards immediately called for a Jeep and using the BSP search light which was projected around the wrecked ship, it was spotted that a foreign national was stationary in water with his head up," the spokesman said.

He said that the lifeguards ran with their rescue tube towards the victim and secured him.

"The lifeguards released the victim after providing him with basic first aid and safety advice of not going up the River Princess, especially after sunset," the spokesman added.
