Case against teacher for punishing student

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Malpe Police Station Inspector Girish informed that two separate cases have been registered against class teacher and headmaster for offending the boy’s feelings during his ‘vrata’ as the boy was wearing Ayappa mala. Police said that Akash, studying in 8th standard, was punished by his class teacher for not being attentive in the class. He was also allegedly punished by his headmaster for missing special classes along with other boys.  Following the same, Akash’s father lodged a complaint in Malpe police station alleging that the punishment has badly hurt the sentiments and religious feelings of the boy.
