BJP doles out goodies ahead of polls

This was announced by Medical Education and District In-charge Minister S A Ramdas who released the manifesto under the slogan- Mysore towards model village, here on Wednesday.

Apart from literacy, the party promises to improve the situation of the district in SSLC results from the current 24th slot to single digit, followed by slum free, fertile rich land, health of farmers, boosting underground water and medical village programmes. Also priority has been given to bring reforms in education, rural health, food, agriculture, sericulture, animal husbandry and basic facilities like water, road, hygiene, power, bio-technology, housing, women and children’s development, welfare of backward classes, tourism, sports and arts in the manifesto, said Ramdas.

White paper

He further announced that the party will bring out a white paper every year on the implementation of the promises made in the manifesto.

Taking exception to the recent statements issued by the former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and former minister ‘Benki’ Mahdev ridiculing Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, Ramdas said that elections should be fought on the plank of development, not on defacing others.

Ramdas said that the Chief Minister will be participating in the poll campaign on December 24 at Hunsur at 10 am and 12 noon at Nanjangud.

MLC S Siddaraju who is also the president of BJP rural unit claimed that the party has given impetus to social justice giving tickets to candidates irrespective of caste.

Forest Minister C H Vijayashankar, Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) Chairman G T Devegowda, MLCs Thontadarya, Prof K R Mallikarjunappa and Go Madhusudhan, former legislators Bannur Krishnappa and C Ramesh, Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) Chairman M Nanjundaswamy were present.
