'Adima's contribution to culture commendable'

She inaugurated the 55th drama programme ‘Hunnime Haadu’ and Inter-state Youth Associations utilitarian programme organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra on Tuesday night by conventionally beating the drum.

The programmes were organised in Teralli Hills, where the Adima Samskritika Sanghatane is situated for several years.

“Special efforts are being taken to spread awareness among children and youth about cultural programmes and activities. Every full moon night, hundred of people gather here to watch plays and other cultural programmes. This is an appreciable fact,” she said.

Additional Superintendent of Police H R Bhagavandas said Adima is undertaking special programmes to bring together artistes and people interested in art and help them communicate with each other. He wished such activities to continue in the future and also flourish.

Widening the reach

Society president Kotiganahalli Ramaiah, who presided over the programme, said thousands of people are encouraging the work of Adima.

“A few years from now, the society will attain international status. But this requires help and cooperation of all people interested in art,” he requested.

P Prabhakar, former president of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, K Umalakshmi, assistant director of Youth Service and Sports Department were also on the dais.

S H Chowdappa, Nehru Yuva Kendra youth programme advisory board member, was the narrator. Youth coordinator Devasahayam welcomed the gathering and made the inaugural speech. Venkatashiva Reddy proposed the vote of thanks.

Prior to the commencement of the programme, students of Chintamani Agricultural Science Centre presented Dollukunita, Somanakunita, Keelukudure and Poojakunita. A team from Spandana Women and Child Welfare Society, Hoskote taluk, presented Tamate.

Students of the government school, Kamadhenuhalli, Kolar taluk, who were trained under the Balavikasa Akademi, presented a play ‘Halli Haadu’.
