He made this statement while winding up a 48-hour hunger strike in Vijayawada on Thursday demanding a fair deal for farmers.

Surrounded by several ministers and senior leaders of the ruling party, Jagan said: “If this government fails to resume farmer-friendly measures introduced by YSR, then I warn that the time has arrived for this government to go.”

Jagan, who accepted lime juice from a farmer to break his  fast, did not spare Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, whose indefinite fast entered the seventh day Thursday. Jagan said Naidu and the Congress government had colluded against farmers. As many as 24 Congress legislators participated on the first day of Jagan’s hunger fast on the banks of Krishna river.

However, after frantic phone calls and SMSs, many of them left the dais in the afternoon.

State minister for textiles Shankar Rao  demanded action against all the MLA’s who participated in Jagan’s   campaign.

Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy also pulled up party legislators who went to Jagan’s meeting.

“If you want to go with Jagan, please resign your seat and go,” Kiran told MLAs including actor Jayasudha, Congress MLA from the city.
