Teacher beaten to death for objecting to eve-teasing

Makhan Verma was beaten up yesterday by three youths when he tried to stop them from harassing girls outside the high school where he taught, police officials said today.

The trio came on a motorcycle and passed certain remarks at the girls outside the school at Badulbaazar near here. When Verma protested, the trio badly thrashed him. He was taken to hospital, where he was declared dead, they said.

The three alleged attackers - Bharat Kure (21), Vimal Patel (20) and Amar Dhruv (21) - have been arrested, the officials added.
