Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, he said the state government had failed to release funds for the development works in the local bodies. The BJP government has been engaged in telling thousand lies. The government has failed to provide honourarium to the Village Assistants and Watermen for the last six months. The treasury of the State government is empty.”
He said “the BJP government is filled with scams. Hence, the government is involved in only discussing about the scams and no development works are being undertaken,” he added.
“Owing to the failure of the government to release funds for the local bodies, they are on the verge of closure. If the Centre had failed to release funds under Mahtma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, health, agriculture schemes, National Horticulture Mission, Indira Awaz Yojana, then the ZP and TP would have been closed by now.”

The State Government had the opportunity construct 2 lakh houses under Indira Awaz yojana in the State. However, the State had failed to utilise the funds. The BJP can not win the election through ‘money and muscle power.’ The Congress is ready to face the election, the MP added.

Stating that the Governor has rightly questioned the state government on nepotism, corruption, anarchy in the State, he said Karnataka has not seen such a situation so far. It is not right on the part of MP D B Chandre Gowda to flay the action of the Governor.
To a query on CM expressing his desire to take part in national politics, he said “I welcome CM’s decision. Then atleast, the communal violence and looting of state treasury will be stopped.”
