'Reddys offered 200 crore to drop padayatra'

The party had waged a war against illegal mining, demanding a probe against all mines operating in Bellary. Speaking at a campaign rally at Siddalingapura on Saturday, he said Ministers Janardhana Reddy, Karunakara Reddy and Sriramulu had sent their emissary to his house offering a deal of Rs 200 crore to ensure that the Congress withdrew its padayatra. “I rejected the offer and told them firmly that the party would go ahead. We did take out the padayatra and showed our commitment to the people of the State,” said Siddu.
