The century-old church has been submerged more than four decades ago. Although, this imposing structure has lost its sheen as it remains in water throughout the year but it is still attracting tourists. Hitherto, the people were enjoying the beauty of the church from a long distance. Now the local youths have arranged for coracle to see the structure from a close angle. This has made the people to flock the spot especially during weekends. The local youths charge some amount to take the tourists around the submerged church and allow them to spend sometime on its roof.

The structure is still strong despite being in waters throughout the year. The water reaches up to the roof level when the dam reaches its brim. It is seen when the water level recedes.
Seeing the response from the visitors, the district administration has prepared a plan to develop it as a tourist spot and sent it to the Department of Tourism. If the project comes through, it would be possible for the district administration to conserve the church as a protected monument and give a facelift. This, no doubt, would be an added attraction, in the district.
