He said “the treasury of the CM Yeddyurappa’s family is overfilled. The State had Rs 39,000 crore loan before Yeddyurappa became the Chief Minister. However, now it has been increased to Rs 85,000 crore. The state has not seen any development works in the last two and half years. No new roads have been built.”

In the name of distributing sarees to the mothers of Bhagyalakshmi Yojana beneficiaries, a sum of Rs 15 crore has been looted, he said and added that to distribute the sarees, the Chief Minister has spent Rs one crore from the state treasury. Instead of purchasing sarees from the state weavers, the government had purchased sarees from Surath. By collecting commission for purchasing sarees, the government has cheated ‘mothers,’ he alleged.

“When I was the Chief Minister, I have waived off crop loan of farmers upto Rs 25,000. A sum of Rs 2,500 crore was earmarked for the welfare of the farmers. The currency was not printed at any machine. However, when a delegation visited Chief Minister seeking waiver of the loan, he spoke rudley with the farmers,” he alleged and added that Yeddyurappa has proved that he does not have any concern for the farmers.

Kumaraswamy said that the BJP government did not come to the rescue of the farmers who threw green chilly on road owing to the steep fall in the price in Somwarpet taluk. The government even failed to solve the problems of the paddy and coffee growers. “Taking oath in the name of farmers by wearing green shawl was a biggest tragedy in the “State, he ridiculed. The JD(S) has been fighting alone in the State against the corrupt BJP government, he added.
