Free medical services to tackle Chikungunya in KGF: Sampangi

He was speaking after inaugurating free medical treatment services to patients suffering from chikungunya at Henris Layout in KGF, on Tuesday. Free medical services will be provided at every layout and the residents should make better use of the opportunity, he added.

In order to contain the growth of mosquitoes Municipal Commissioner R S Yarappa  has been asked to provide fogging facilities in all the layouts.

Lack of drains

The legislator also visited Urigampete, Lurdunagar,  Sanjay Gandhi Nagar and other slum areas. Lack of drains is a contributing factor to the growth of mosquitoes. Thus, efforts should be directed to weed out the drains, he added.

Moreover, there is a dire shortage of water in most of the localities in KGF. A sum of Rs 1.75 crore has been released by the Water Board, thus, a permanent drinking water project will devised to address the drinking water problem, he informed.
