"The allegations linking him with Niira Radia are utterly baseless. There is no substance, no context in the allegations whatsover", Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, told PTI on the sidelines of a news conference here.

She charged the UPA government with targetting her husband as "he as an imporant senior leader of the oppositition who has been consistently fighting against corruption".

"It is nothing but diversionary tactics adopted by the UPA government to deflect the attention of the public from the various scams including the CWG and the latest 2G Spectrum", Tejaswini, an electronics engineer who runs an NGO, claimed.

Fending off the opposition onslaught on the 2G spectrum scam, Congress had last week sought to turn tables on the BJP on corruption issue demanding Ananth Kumar's removal for his alleged links with Radia, which it claimed proved that BJP was corrupt and had no regard for national security.

Kumar, Lok Sabha member from Bangalore, has dismissed the charges against him as "completely false and malicious" and said he would initiate legal action against those made the allegations.

Radia's Vaishnavi Communication has also issued a denial saying accusations were being made to influence some legal proceedings.
