Gowda hints at third front

At a press meet here on Monday, he said leaders of all secular parties had convinced former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu to call off his indefinite hunger strike as life is precious. Naidu had been demanding better package for farmers hit by unprecedented rains recently. The unification of secular leaders helps in emergence of a secular force in the country.

Gowda said former chief minister S Bangarappa quit Congress and joined JD(S). Thousands of youths from Udupi and Dakshina Kannada have joined JD(S) as they were angry over Congress and BJP. The JD(S) has brighten the prospects of the party in the State, he claimed.

On Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer extending support to former union minister H N  Ananthkumar who was caught in a scandal, Gowda flayed the seer and said he did not have any objection if the pontiff does politics, but supporting a tainted BJP leader is inexcusable.
