Mindful Leadership Competition-2011 series launched

University of Dayton, Ohio, USA and Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) have launched Mindful Leadership Competition - 2011, the fourth annual national-level competition for undergraduate and graduate students on “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: Wake-up Call for India Inc”.

The winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the United States to visit the University of Dayton and participate in a programme custom-tailored to the winner's academic interests. The winner will explore international study options with the University's Center for International Programs, spend time on campus, attend classes, meet faculty and talk with students from all over the world about studying in the US.

There will be cash prizes and other honours for second and third place winners. This competition is open to all full-time undergraduate and graduate students in India. Last date for the submission of entries is January 10, 2011. More information can be found on www.liba.edu/mindfulleadership.

SDMIMD to host Naissance 2011

SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) will be hosting Naissance 2011, their annual management fest, from January 6-8, 2011. The management fest will witness 300 participants from B-schools across the country.

This year’s theme for the fest is ‘Social Media Revolution’. Naissance 2011 will present an assortment of various events on their campus in Mysore, ranging from The Hub (Retail Game), KotlertoTwitter (Marketing Game), Paypal (Finance Game), Expound (Paper Presentation), Matador (The Best Manager), Tagged (HR Game), Concurso (Business Quiz), B-Emperor (Entrepreneurship), Technager (Systems), Dashboard (Operations).

English language teaching course

Following the inauguration of the CELTA course in October 2010, the British Council in Chennai has now opened registrations for the next four-week intensive course which starts in February 2011.

The certificate course in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) will be awarded by the University of Cambridge. For further details, visit www.britishcouncil.org/ india-education-course-details-celta-link.htm. Applications must reach the British Council office on or before January 21, 2011.
