Saying she was “quite lucky” to have received the proposal from the noted lawyer, Anasua said in a trembling voice “I am grateful to him (Jethmalani).” According to her, Binayak’s wife Illina and others in the family will take a final call on as to who would fight for the activist.
Ilina, too, expressed happiness over Jethmalani’s offer, but could not immediately confirm whether the veteran lawyer’s assistance would be sought. “I am happy for his intention but I have to discuss the issue with others as I have given the case to other lawyers already,” family sources quoted her from Raipur. According to Illina, the family plans to move the High Court after January 3.
