Last Updated 30 December 2010, 07:18 IST

"A delegation comprising of around 15-25 Gujjars is expected to come here and meet us. I was informed by aides of Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla that a delegation will be coming here at Bayana for talks," G S Sandhu, Principal Secretary, Home and Urban Development, told PTI today.

"We will try to end the deadlock by offering them what the state government can do within the limited framework as the matter is sub-judice," he said.

While Bainsla could not be contacted, his close aide Roop Singh said, "We have not announced anything regarding the talks yet. The meeting of elders is going on to discuss the issue and what is decided in the meeting will be announced later."

Four officials - G S Sandhu, Bharatpur Divisional Commissioner Rajeshwar Singh, Bharatpur District Collector Krishna Kunal and Pali District Collector Neeraj K.Pawan would hold talks with the protesting Gujjars, official sources said.

Gujjars have been blocking rail tracks and roads for the past ten days in support of their demand for five per cent reservation in government jobs.
