Ayodhya to have state-of-the-art surveillance system

Authorities have moved a proposal to the state government asking it to have about four dozens of autodom video cameras installed at vital points across the town including the the disputed site which falls in red security zone, police sources said.

The proposal follows intelligence inputs regarding possibilities of trouble before the Republic Day (January 26), the sources said, adding security around the temple town has been beefed up.

The new cameras worth rupees five crore have the capability of securing data for a long time, they said.

The permanent committee on security of disputed area have also decided to implement some other security measures such as increasing the duties of security forces, construction of more bullet-proof bunkers near Babri Masjid premises and purchasing high efficiency electric generators and an ambulance.
