Fate of 116 ZP candidates to be locked in EVMs today

Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav informed the media persons that as many as 6,780 election officers and 133 sector officers have been deputed in 1,027 polling booths of the district. As many as 1,130 presiding officers, 4,520 booth officers and 1,130 group-D employees have been deployed for the purpose. To record the occurrence of any malicious activities in the sensitive and hyper sensitive areas, 242 video cameras have been fixed, he said.

Briefing about the extra arrangements that have been made in favour of the voters, the DC said that as many as 235 voters facility centres have been established in selected voting centers where there are more than one poll booths. Officials in-charge of these centres will facilitate the voters in finding out the polling booth where they are supposed to vote. These centres will avoid confusion among the voters and saves their time, DC said. Further, he informed that help lines have been opened in all the taluk centres to clarify the doubts and queries of the voters.

Medical kit to officers
As a precautionary measure, the district administration has provided medical kit to the election officers working in different centres. The kit consists of medicines like paracetamol and ORS to heal the officers in case of health upset. Arrangements have been made for the ambulance services for emergency purpose.

SMS updates
For the first time in the district, an initiative has been taken to update the voting information through SMS. DC informed that SMS will be used as the communication channel to pass on election related information for every two hours. The election officers from all the booths will SMS the state of voting to the respective taluk officers which will be fed in the computer and further will be calculated and analysed in the district centre. The information will be displayed in the information department website.
