Danger lurks on this stretch of road beside empty tank

On Thursday, a truck heading towards Mangalore capsized into the tank after the driver lost control over the wheels while negotiating a curve.

The people flayed the authorities of National Highway and the district administration for not taking steps to provide protection for the vehicle passing on that tank bund road. Several tankers and other vehicles have fell into the tank and many persons have died; but the authorities are yet to open their eyes to this problem, they added. There are lot of curves between Mavnur and  Bharathavalli proving difficult for the drivers. Besides the road is very narrow and filled up potholes. It was a herculean task for the drivers to drive especially during rainy season. The people have demanded the elected representatives and officials to take up widening of this stretch of road also put iron railing on the bund of this tank to prevent the mishaps in future.
