<p>The University Syndicate at its meeting on Tuesday also recommended to Governor H R Bhardwaj the names of cardiologist Dr Devi Shetty, sarod maestro Rajiv Taranath and educationist Doreswamy for the honorary degree. <br /><br />Award for founder<br /><br />The Syndicate also recommended to confer the degree, posthumously, on former Mysore Maharaja, the late Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, who founded the Mysore Princely States's first university in 1916, sources said.<br /><br />The doctorate degree will be presented during the convocation expected to be held by January end or early next month.</p>
