The University Syndicate at its meeting on Tuesday also recommended to Governor H R Bhardwaj the names of cardiologist Dr Devi Shetty, sarod maestro Rajiv Taranath and educationist Doreswamy for the honorary degree.
Award for founder
The Syndicate also recommended to confer the degree, posthumously, on former Mysore Maharaja, the late Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, who founded the Mysore Princely States's first university in 1916, sources said.
The doctorate degree will be presented during the convocation expected to be held by January end or early next month.
