Plea seeks NBW against Reddy

Last Updated 14 January 2011, 18:09 IST

G R Mohan, advocate and party in person, in his petition has stated that the police had not been able to secure the arrest of the Minister, despite the non-bailable arrest warrant issued by the Sandur court. He has further stated though the Minister was always available in Bellary and Bangalore, the police had come back stating that he was not available. The police who are  empowered by the Courts have failed in their duty to execute the warrant of arrest, the petitioner argued.

The petitioner has contended that Janardhana Reddy evading appearance in the courts was a mockery of the judicial system.

The petitioner prayed that the High Court direct the police to execute the warrant of arrest issued by the courts without any excuse and promptly ensure speedy trial and disposal of cases. The petitioner has also sought interim direction to the  JMFC Court, Sandur not to recall the warrant of arrest and send Janardhan Reddy to judicial custody.
