Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah on Tuesday alleged that corruption to the tune of ` one lakh crore had taken place eversince the BJP came to power in the State.

Speaking at a function held to felicitate the newly-elected taluk and zilla panchayat members, organised by the District Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Youth Organisation here, he said of  ` one lakh crore,  ` 50 crore had been from illegal mining. Interestingly, persons, who were involved in illegal mining, were  praising chief minister B S Yeddyurappa as ‘Aparanji’ (pure gold). This has been the only achievement of BJP Government, he ridiculed.

Siddaramaiah compared the Council of Ministers as ‘Alibaba and 40 thieves; and said everyday one or the other new scams were coming to light. Despite these scams, the CM had maintained a stoic silence. Yeddyurappa would go behind bars if a probe was held into all the scams.

Former minister, Katta Subramanya Naidu, resigned following his alleged involvement in Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board(KIADB) land scam. The CM would have been in jail by this time, if Lokayuktha probed the scam, he claimed.

The Congress leader charged that the CM was running the government like a business.

This was the most corrupt government that he had been in his three decades of politics.

The Assembly speaker, K G Bopaiah was acting like a puppet in the hands of CM and dance according to the tunes of the ruling party members. He had been partial in his duty, he alleged.

MLAs K Sureshgowda, H S Mahadevprasad, Sharanprakashpatil. former union minister M H Ambareesh, former minister M S Atmananda, former MP G Madegowda and others were present.
