Action sought against erring officials

The issue was raised during the CMC meeting organised at CMC auditorium in the town on Tuesday. The members alleged that officials had already cleared the bills pertaining to the work even before transferring them to CMC and added that most of the highmast lamps were malfunctioning. The members, in unison demanded action against the officials who had cleared the bills.

TMC Commissioner Rame Gowda said that the bills had been cleared even before he took charge as the Commissioner. However, he promised to take action against the officials after examining the documents.

The water tanks in Nakkundipet and at the base of Hills on the outskirts the town are in dilapidated condition. The condition is very poor as the water is contaminated due to the rusted iron rods which have been exposed due to denuding of plaster and cement pieces which are falling from the tank’s roof. Though complaints have been lodged many times, the officials concerned have failed to take action.

The issue unauthorised houses also came up for the discussion. The members suggested that the houses should be brought under CMC through Akrama Sakrama or any other  means. However Rame Gowda said that government had not taken any decision on Akrama Sakrama.
