JOIN USThe academic council meeting held on Tuesday resolved to utilise the available funds to present gold medals at the annual convocation.
The University had found it difficult to give gold medals to meritorious students due to steep increase in the price of yellow metal, in the last two years. The interest accrued from various endowments was insufficient to present medals and cash rewards were given instead. This time, the varsity will make about 250 gold medals at Rs 10,000 each.
PhD guidelines
The Academic Council also approved new guidelines governing doctoral degree programme to bring it in conformity with UGC guidelines. The new rules specifies norms for course work, including number of papers, structure of course work, and minimum pass marks.
The University rejected extension of time for submission of papers of 30 candidates.
