JOIN USThe 20th edition of the senior meet will be held from January 22-25 at the Sadashivanagar Club courts while the junior tourney is scheduled to be played from January 26-29 at their Club’s premises and KBA courts. “Junior boys qualifying round matches will be played at the Karnataka Badminton Association courts on January 26 and 27. Around 700 players from different part of the State will take part in the competitions. Apart from the women’s section, the number of entries have increased from the previous years,” said KBA secretary N C Sudhir at the press meet to announce the 1.3 lakh prize money tournament on Friday.
Surprisingly there is only eight entries in the women’s singles draw while the women’s doubles had to be cancelled due to paucity of entries. The tournament, being held under the aegis of Bangalore North District Badminton Association, will have competitions in singles and doubles categories for men, veterans, junior (under-19), sub-junior (U-16), midget (U-13) and mini (U-10) while only singles matches will be held in the women’s section.
