Himalayan trek in May

International Academy of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (IAMAS) and Rotary Mysore Adventure Corps will be taking a team to ‘Himalayan Adventure Trek (HAT) -2011’ in Himachal Pradesh from May 12 to May 21.

A trek to Fakunda Peak at a height of 3,998 metres. It is one of the most popular trails in the Shivalik Range of the Himalayas. Parvati Valley abounds in natural beauty with snow-clad mountains, perennial rivulets and streams waterfalls, picturesque meadows in the midst of dense forests of Deodar trees, which beckon the young adventure lover to come and experience the serene and calm atmosphere of all pervading nature.

Adventure

The purpose is to expose the young Turks to a greater adventure and to rough out the rigors of plodding through snow and to develop a sense of love for nature and outdoor activity.

Trek route

The trekkers will have orientation session on trek route and Mountaineering techniques, they will trek to various places like Baggi, Sara Baggi, Dodirwar, Lama Dug and will summit at Fakunda Peak from where you can view various snow peaks like Mt Dev, Hanuman Tibba, and Inder Killa.

Special features

The Special features of this adventure program is that participant will come across various adventure hurdles like Commando Net, Cat Crawling, Australian Trolley and Rock Climbing.

The minimum age criterion to participate in this adventure program is 13 years.
