The Changeling star — who raises Maddox, nine, Pax, seven, Zahara, five, Shiloh, four and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with partner Brad Pitt — says mothers should cherish every minute they spend with their kids because the phase passes soon.
“Just enjoy every minute of it because it goes so fast and it is the best time in your life. Strap them to you and hang out with them and sleep in the same bed with them and just love every second of it,” said Jolie.
The 35-year-old actress also said she took on her role in The Tourist opposite Johnny Depp because it gave her the opportunity to spend time with her children in Venice and admitted she relies on her kids to keep her grounded in Hollywood. “You just have to focus on the positive side. I got to spend two months filming in Venice which no one gets to do, with a co-star who is so lovely. So it’s all hard to say no to.”
“We make a point to stay together as a family when we are filming. In this town, you have to. Brad and I take turns working so we packed up and went to Venice. I think some people are affected by fame. I’m lucky that I have a lot of kids who keep me very, very grounded,” Jolie added.
