Hooked: Minissha Lamba A newfound love

The little birdie has spoken and what a mischievous tale it has to tell. All the gossip groups better get your notebooks out because Minissha Lamba, the hot and sexy actress who is famous for her roles in Bachna Ae Haseeno and Kidnap, has been spotted romancing a certain “Mr P”.

Many reports state that Minissha just can’t keep her hands of this love she more than fraternises with. When Mr P is around, Minissha always has this excited spark in her eyes like all she wants to do is just play — all day and night if possible. Apart from all the love and the public display of affection, the babe from Bollywood also seems extremely possessive about Mr P and she just can’t stand the idea of losing Mr P every time she sees any one indulging in the addictive Mr P.

If this is not love then what is, we wonder! However, who is this Mr P? After much confirmation and re-conformation from reliable sources, it has been found that Minissha’s Mr P is none other than the game that so many people love — Poker (not to intend the pun with a ‘P’). Apparently, she is totally addicted to the game.

Clever: Irrfan Khan‘My work sells, not my face’

From Doordarshan serials to Hollywood films, Irrfan Khan has traversed a long path. The 48-year-old actor says he is very conscious about which project he chooses as it is his work that sells, not his looks.

“I am choosy because it’s not my face that sells. My work is what people like and want to see again and again; so I can’t repeat myself,” said Irrfan.

“I have to look at the stories, which are exciting, which give me scope to do what I haven’t done earlier, which have entertainment, which can engage me for a long period of shooting. So it also becomes important to see with whom you are going to work,” he said.

Irrfan also maintains that co-actors matter a lot while signing a film.“The co-star matters a lot while doing a film. It depends on the film as well. Some films require a certain kind of chemistry while some films don’t. But there are some dramas where the co-actor becomes very, very important. There it is not how you are performing your character or reacting to the other but how you are interacting with your co-star. It’s definitely a concern when it comes to a film where the co-star matters. Especially when you have a very sensitive chemistry," said Irrfan.

The actor can’t be more right — if his performances in movies like Maqbool, The Namesake and Life...In A Metro are anything to go by. He was applauded and his crackling chemistry with co-stars Tabu and Konkona Sen Sharma respectively were seen as the high points of the narratives. Now the actor is excited about sharing an unusual chemistry with Chitrangada Singh in director Sudhir Mishra’s forthcoming film Yeh Saali Zindagi that also stars Arunoday Singh and Aditi Rao Hydari.

“The chemistry I have with Chitrangada...after so many know...after
Maqbool, I got a chance to play that kind of equation, where this guy loves a girl, which is so unusual (sic),” said Irrfan. Yeh Saali Zindagi is a quirky love story in the guise of a thriller.

Vouching for a natural look

Socialite Nicole Richie uses sunglasses to hide the fact she doesn’t wear a lot of make-up and is introducing them into her fashion range.

The fashion designer wants to incorporate sunglasses into her forthcoming collections because they play such a big part in her life as she needs them to cover up her bare face.“We are introducing sunglass this season. Sunglasses play a huge role in my life simply because I don't wear make-up,” she said.

The 29-year-old beauty has become such a fan of eyewear that she now likes to experiment more with how they look.

“Over time, I have grown to like elaborate frames and fun lens and it was important to me to bring this out for my collection,” she said.

In: Salman KhanThe last straw...

Amitabh Bachchan has severed all ties with the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA).

The superstar has been the brand ambassador for the IIFA right from the initiation of the awards in 2000.

His recent exclusion from the IIFA is not because they snubbed him, as reported. Bachchan wanted it that way.

The inside story goes that Bachchan was extremely hurt by the IIFA’s decision to hold the awards last year in Sri Lanka.

Says a source, “He did not want to be associated with them any more.”

Explaining what led to Bachchan’s fall out with the IIFA, the source said, “Without even taking Bachchan’s opinion, not only did they hold the event in Sri Lanka, but they also signed up Salman Khan to host it. These awards were Bachchan’s baby and hence, he was terribly hurt.”

Busy: Shilpa ShettyNo shutting down business

Actress Shilpa Shetty says she has no plans to shut down her spa and says such negative reports hurt her sentiments.

It was reported that she will close the shop as she is not able to devote much time to her business venture due to her Indian Premier League team Rajasthan Royals.

“Just writing this so it can be on record... We are not closing down IOSIS, my spa.

Irresponsible reporting hampers business, hence clarifying (sic),” Shilpa wrote on microblogging site Twitter.

“My partner Kiran Bawa and I have invested a lot, IOSIS spa is our baby, hurts us to see maligning reports, contrary to reports we are doing well,” she added.

Shilpa had ventured into the spa business in 2009 with three outlets in Mumbai.
