Immediate steps will be taken to build the hospital so that it can benefit the people, said District In-charge Minister Shobha Karandlaje. She was speaking to presspersons during a visit to the district on Monday.

“The current District Hospital is too small and does not suffice the health requirements of the people. It is also not possible to improvise on facilities in the Hospital due to lack of space,” she explained.

“The new hospital will be constructed on the spot where the Basappa Chhatra stood earlier. The people who live on the premises of the Chhatra will be shifted and rehabilitated before construction of the new hospital.

“The activities of the District Hospital will increase and people will also benefit from the better facilities,” she said.

Referring to the power supply in the district, Karandlaje said, “Chikkaballapur district is being supplied power in three phases. We try to ensure that farmers and students do not face problems due to power shortage. There will be no problems in the future too, as regards power supply,” the Minister promised.

Criticizing the Governor for permitting a legal case to be booked against the Chief Minister, Karandlaje said, “Governor H R Bhardwaj is a scholar in matters of law. We had therefore hoped that he would help development of the State.

“But he has been creating problems for the Government ever since he took charge as the Governor of the State. He has been preventing smooth functioning of the Government,” she added.
