GST required in Textile sector: TAI

He was addressing the 66th All India Textile Conference, recently, organised by TAI’s Karnataka unit. He also called for a raw material policy, besides urging the authorities to continue the Technology Upgradation Fund (TUF).

Textiles & Handlooms Minister Govind M Karjol said the state textile policy aims at targeting investment of Rs 10,000 crore for generating  employment to five lakh people over a five-year period. He also mentioned that three textile parks are in the offing.
