Govt probing if agents duped students

Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi today said he has asked the Indian Mission in Washington to see whether any agent in Andhra Pradesh was involved in the incident.
"If agents are involved from Andhra Pradesh, I will ask the Chief Minister to immediately prosecute the agents," he told reporters after meeting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

He said the US authorities are wrong in confiscating passports from the students of Tri-Valley University who face the prospect of deportation after the university was charged with immigration fraud.

"The actions by the US authorities are condemnable. It is inhuman and unacceptable.     They should not tie any radio tag on their body.  I am told it is very heavy and it is impossible to carry," he said.

"They (students) are not going to run away," he said.He said the Indian Embassy in Washington will send a report tomorrow or on Tuesday about the incident after which a decision will be taken.
