The team will comprise senate members and professors, she said. Prof Bali said currently 75 colleges in 13 districts of North Karnataka came under the varsity.

The government would be urged to bring about 100 colleges from the southern part of the State also under the women’s university, so that more students were benefited, she said.

Three hostels were being constructed at the Thoravi campus of the university and two more were planned this year, she said. The UGC had granted Rs two crore for the varsity, she announced.

Proposals had been submitted to the Centre and the State seeking Rs 60 crore for providing more facilities for students of the university, the Vice-chancellor added.
