Police and revenue officials searched the Gyuto Tantric Monastery and were questioning aides at the home of Ugyen Thinley Dorje, the 17th Karmapa, about the source of the $1.35m in currency found over the weekend, monastery official Phuntsok Lama said. The raid on the monastery followed the arrest of two people who were found carrying Rs 1 crore in cash.
