Guest lecturers hold dharna in Mandya

They shouted slogans against the elected representatives for turning deaf ears to their demands and criticised them for not discussing the issue in the recently concluded session of the State legislature.

The leaders, who got elected with the support of guest lecturers, have neglected them without fighting for their demands.

Addressing the protesters, President of Government First Grade College Guest Lecturers Association G V Ramesh wanted the government to frame service rules on par with the government lecturers. Thousands are working as guest faculty for a paltry salary in colleges.

The protesters threatened to intensify the stir if their demands were not met. Office-bearers of the Association, S  Manju, K Praksh, Lakshmi, Sowmya, Rekha, Sumathi and others were present.
