One held in Mysore for defiling of masjid

 The accused is identified as Krishna of Kyatamaranahalli. He had purchased the piglet from Nagaraj alias Reddy of Srirangapatna after paying Rs 1,500.

Rajkumar of the same town had acted as a middle man for purchasing the piglet. Interestingly, the owner of the piglet, Reddy was traced by the police with the help of a ‘V’ cut mark on the ears of the animal.


Krishna has confessed to disposing off the carcass of the piglet in the premises of the masjid under construction.

According to further investigations, Krishna was assisted by Raju of Kyatamaranahalli to execute the plan. He is also said to be the mastermind in this case. He is at large along with another accomplice.

The accused resorted to this act in order to avenge the damage of places of worship belonging to a particular community by another community during Kyatamaranahalli riot on April 1.

Orders extended

Meanwhile, the police have extended the prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC only in three police stations limits; Udayagiri, N R and Mandi. Night curfew has been lifted from Monday midnight.
